Have you wondered what you can do to impact crime or education or jobs in our community? On Sunday April 13, Christ Church will be renting a bus for interested parties to attend the founding convention of Common Ground at the Midwest Express Center.
Common Ground is an organization that began approximately two years ago. Members have been active in speaking with the leadership of churches and nonprofit organizations. Common Ground is also training leaders to become involved in developing power to assert positive leadership in the best interest of our communities.
Some members of Christ Church, including the clergy, have attended training sessions and quickly realized that this is an organization which is very diverse, organized and focused. Common Ground is energizing the population to improve the quality of life in Southeastern Wisconsin.
The founding convention will be an opportunity to witness what has been evolving in our community, to become optimistic that something can be done, and to join with others interested in making a difference. We would like your help in showing that Christ Church cares, and cares enough to have a show of force through our attendance April 13.
The founding convention will be from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Please join your fellow parishioners by signing up on the sheet in the garden vestibule. If you have questions about Common Ground, please contact Mimi Herrick, Charlie Drake, Father Downs or Father Dietrich. You can make a difference.
