Does Our Christian Faith call us to Advocacy?

This month we will present ways in which you can make your voice heard. Saving the information onto your files will make them readily available for your use. The information will be in our weekly broadcast, on our new bulletin board, and posted on the Christ Church website under Ministries/Green Team/Advocacy Resources in the following weeks for continued reference.

We will begin with the work of our national church. All policy positions are based on General Convention and Executive Council resolutions after theological study and debate. The following weeks will list state and local connections to help you make your voice heard. You can sign on for updates from the Episcopal Policy Network to come directly to your email address.

It is our Godly mission to work on creation care, which also affects racial reconciliation, ending poverty, refugees and immigration, human rights and peacebuilding.

Our faith motivates us to speak up for others. When we begin to understand how much God loves us and those around us, we begin to understand why injustice is such a big deal in the Bible: Injustice keeps people from experiencing the fullness of life God wants for all of us!

Whenever you’re discouraged by injustice, take a moment to think about what you can do, remember all the great advocates who’ve gone before us, and ask God to help you not become weary in doing good (Galatians 6:9)..
